Product Owner

Overview

Own the product vision for innovative, rich game experiences. As a Product Owner at Lunar Lizard, you will be the voice of the player and the guardian of the product vision — turning bold creative ambition, cutting-edge technology, and deep player insight into a clear, prioritized roadmap. Working alongside game designers, artists, ML engineers, and Unreal Engine developers, you will make sure every sprint moves us closer to games that feel fresh, immersive, and unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, communicate, and continuously refine the product vision for our game experiences
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, maximizing player value and creative impact with every release
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria that artists, designers, and engineers can act on confidently
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, technical artists, ML engineers, and UE developers to shape features from concept to launch
  • Use playtests, player feedback, analytics, and market trends to guide product decisions and validate ideas early
  • Balance innovation — AI-driven animation, hyper-realistic real-time characters, novel gameplay — against scope, budget, and timelines
  • Review and accept delivered features, ensuring they meet both quality standards and the intended player experience
  • Work with the Project Manager to align roadmap priorities with team capacity and production milestones
  • Keep stakeholders informed and aligned on product direction, trade-offs, and progress

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in games or interactive entertainment
  • Track record of shipping game titles or major features from concept to release
  • Strong background in Agile/Scrum product ownership (CSPO or equivalent certification is a plus)
  • Solid understanding of game design, player motivation, and engagement/retention metrics
  • Experience turning player research and data into actionable product decisions
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine production pipelines and real-time 3D development constraints
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar product and backlog management tools
  • Fluent English for communication with cross-functional, international teams and stakeholders
